With a look of determination, Khia unhooked Ray from her belt and threw the ball to the floor.

''Belll?''

''We're hunting Pokemon, Ray! Let's see if we can add one or two to our team!''

''Dum!!'' Ray said in an approving tone.

Together, Khia and her Beldum moved into one of the grassy areas, looking out for the slightest hint of movement. Suddenly, Ray lunged into a takedown; he had spotted a Pokemon! Khia unhooked an empty Pokeball from her belt; what Pokemon had Ray seen?

''Ran!!'' the Pokemon screamed, scratching Ray back. Khia grinned; steel types would always have the upper hand against poison types, which was what had appeared. A female Nidoran! It would make the perfect addition to Khia's team!

''Ray, use takedown again!'' Beldum blinked, then threw its whole body at the enemy Pokemon with such force that the Nidoran went flying backwards into a tree. ''Now!'' Khia threw the Pokeball, watching as the weakened Pokemon was sucked inside of it. It rocked, rocked again... then click! The Nidoran had been caught!

''Yes!'' Khia said, running over to where the ball lay. ''I'm gonna call you 'Ren', since you evolve into a Nidorina! I think it suits you.'' Khia said, nodding. She scooped Beldum into her arms, checked him over for any damage, then headed back over to the PokeCentre in Canis city. She needed to heal her Pokemon.

''Dum!'' Ray said, agreeing.

Caleb walked alongside his Raltz, eventually reaching the Route 2. He looked down at his pokemon, Belle, holding Dune's pokeball. Belle smiled, and stood back. At that, Caleb marched forth into the tall grass! It wasn't long, when he was greeted by a young Skorupi. A toxic pokemon... He made sure his antidote was ready... luckily, his sandshrew was quite resistant to toxins. He tossed out his pokeball, Dune erupting forth! The sandshrew hit the ground charging. Man, this thing had spunk! It charged headlong into the Scorupi with a heavy scratch attack to its' face. Snarling, however, the opponent bit onto Sandshrew, digging its' teeth into its' shell.

Sandshrew used Judo Throw! Or at least, it tried to do something like that, but in the end both pokemon ended up rolling on the ground, scratching and biting. It was then, however, that his pokemon got stung by the creature. Poison seeping into its' system, the sandshrew stumbled backwards. Caleb quickly ran up to it, spraying his antidote on the wound. The scorupi had turned its' back. Patting Dune on the shoulder, he watched the creature run at the pokemon, another heavy scratch cleaving through its' insect-like shell.

Hissing, the scorupi ran off. These pokemon were violent in the wild and a danger with their poisons. Training here would help keep the poison types off the beaten path, it seems.

Without looking where she was going, Khia ran straight back into Route 2, her heart set on finding a Skorupi. Before she walked into the grass, she took the Pokeball belonging to her newly-caught Nidoran and threw it to the floor. With a pop, it released Ren, who looked up at Khia with an unimpressed expression. ''Ran!!'' It said, turning its back on her.

Khia sighed, rubbing the back of her neck. ''Come on Ren, lets see if we can catch another Pokemon...''

Ren simply replied with a defiant ''Ran!'' and walked into the grass. Upon spotting a Patrat, it ran up to it and growled. If Ren had been bigger, it would certainly have been scary, but... as Ren was so tiny, it was an impossibly cute noise. The Patrat, on the other hand, didn't think so, though! It tackled Ren to the side, leering at Khia's freshly caught Pokemon!

''Ren, use scratch!'' Khia shouted, her hand hovering above Ray's Pokeball lest the situation get out of hand. Surprisingly, despite Ren's earlier defiance, the Nidoran charged forwards and scratched the Patrat straight across the face. The Patrat certainly didn't look amused! Ren barely managed to get out of the way when it charged forwards again for another Tackle! Khia didn't need to tell her Pokemon to attack as Ren aimed another scratch at the enemy Pokemon, defeating it.

Khia looked at Ren fondly, grinning as she turned her back on her once again. ''You may not like me but... well done you!''

''Ran!'' Ren said, wagging her tiny tail slightly in approval.

What happened next startled Caleb. As he was about to call back his sandshrew, another pokemon shot out of the grass! It was a rather rambunctious patrat, eyeing everything everywhere in twitching movements. Spying the sandshrew, it scurried up, and started chirping at it. Its' eyes were certainly a frightening thing. Must have been the main guard of a patrat nest nearby. Its' chirping grew louder and louder. It didn't want that sandshrew near them at ALL. Whatever was wrong, was enough to drive this rat up a wall. And attack. It immediately struck out the Sandshrew, which, frightened, curled up into a ball and was knocked away by a swift tackle. Unfurling, it opened its' eyes and shivered under the gaze of the furious patrat, which slammed into him again. This was going nowhere.

"Its' eyes! Go for those gigantic eyes!" Caleb screamed. Sandshrew nodded, and scratched at its' face, blinding it. Its' next tackle missed, which allowed Sandshrew to scratch at its' back while it was blindly looking for him. This process repeated, until the patrat bit down under Sandshrew's protective coating. Its' teeth drawing blood, the sandshrew raised its' razor like claws, and batted the attached pokemon away.

It ran off, chirping as though to warn its' nest about invaders nearby. This wasn't good. It would surely stir up other wild pokemon nearby! He called back his Sandshrew, and readied Envy's pokeball.

Wandering out of the town in the opposite direction from the path he used before entering the town he found a new patch of grass and sprang in, with the pokeball holding his Skar at the ready summoning it as soon as he spotted the Patrat scurrying towards him and letting it loose in the idea of allowing Skar his own decision for the first move.

Go Skar!

Not needing to give consent for it to attack, instead it Leered at the Beaver which looked like a deer in headlights seeing Skar's eyes. Skar wasted no time in pecking the critter out of it's daze, which made it angry tackling the little clumbsily almost missing, but catching Skar's wing with the tip of it's claw, in retaliation to this feeble attack Skar pecked the Patrat between the eyes making it lose conciousness,Skaarrrrm Skarmory uttered as if wanting more. This can't have been the strongest this area had to offer so Lee continued roaming with Skar sitting contently on his shoulder.

Lee continued on through the grass, as a Ekans sought to surprise them with a quick Poison sting, AHH! Skar!! Skar quickly intervenes diving into a direct colition with the attack bruising the Ekans and following through with a quick peck at a random point on it's body. The poison sting seemed to have no effect on Skarmory at all, Ekans this time tried to use Wrap on Skar which still had little effect and Skar pecked at Ekan's tail. The Ekans was unsure of what to do and Skar took advantage of this, pecking the Ekan's once more, It seemed exhausted and to have lost it's will to battle Skar who seemed to be begining to exhaust, Lee decides he'll accomplish one more and he'll switch back to Sam.

Recalling Ren back to her Pokeball, Khia then switched her out for Ray upon the appearance of another Patrat. Seriously, was the area crawling with them, or what? Khia didn't give the Patrat the chance to attack.

''Ray, use Takedown, and take it down!''

''Dum!!'' Ray shouted, before prepelling himself forwards and hitting the unsuspecting Pokemon head-on. The Patrat, weighing less than Ray did, was sent flying backwards from the force of the attack, yet it didn't take long for it to recover and tackle him back. Khia flinched as Patrat's body bounced from Ray's, doing very little damage. ''Finish it off, Ray, then we can continue searching for a Skorupi, yes?''

''Bel!'' Ray happily replied, preparing another takedown. As the Patrat got back to its feet, it was stuck again by the full force of Beldum's steel body and promptly fainted. Khia grinned. ''Maybe that convinced the others to stay away?''

Quickly recognising a pokemon he's been hoping to catch in this region: Shinx, he puts Skar on the offensive considering this one is young and electricity is skarmory's weakness, it shouldnt have any Electric abiities. Skar uses leer since it's worked to a invaluble extent in the previous fights, but this Shinx adapts quickly and seemed to have over come the main effect of the leer. The wild pokemon moving forward quickly and striking Skar in a swift motion, didn't seem to faze Skar enough to incapacitate him yet he could stilll win, using peck. Shinx didn't take as much damage as hoped and used tackle again on Skar to little effect.
The quick succession of attacks between the 2 continued for what seemed like a life time to Lee, willing Skar on who had the upper hand because of it's Leer usage, landing a peck which seemed to be almost it's last effort. Lee planned to end it there and throw a pokeball at the weakened Shinx, the ball rocked again, longer than expected given the battle it just thought and injuries it sustained, seeming to have given up it's struggle and rested in the ball. Happy once more for his 2nd catch of the day, he takes the ball, retreives Skar back into his ball also and returns to town to let them rest.

Khia looked at Beldum with a grin. ''Think you can take another Pokemon on, Ray?''

''Dum!'' Beldum replied, charging blindly into the grass ahead. They had been looking for a Skorupi, but instead...

...another female Nidoran popped out of the grass and scratched at Ray! Getting tired of all the random Pokemon appearing and not the one she had been searching for, she massaged her temples and gave one command. ''Use Takedown until it faints.''

''Dum!'' Ray replied, instantly breaking into a takedown that almost missed. Instead, the Nidoran was hit to one side, so instead of being hit in one direction, it span 360 degrees on the spot. Now dizzy, it aimed a poorly-aimed scratch at where she thought Beldum was, but now she was seeing double and completely missed. Beldum used takedown again, this time hitting perfectly, and just like the two Patrats before her, fainted in the grass.

''Well done Ray! Maybe we're just not meant to find what we're looking for, eh?''

"Well, we are here at the new training place, what do you think, shall we try find you a new friend?" he asked Bagon who eagerly nodded jumping up and down excitedly "Bay Bay!" she shouted. "I'll take that as a yes then" he chuckled. Then they proceeded together into the grass surprised to find a...Shinx. Bagon leapt into action, getting ready to take on Shinx on Meiun's command, which he promptly gave "Use Rage". Bagon was the first to land a hit, the blow sent Shinx straight to the ground, but he was a spritely Pokemon that got back up ready to carry on fighting. He came running and collided with Bagon with a fairly impressive tackle that knocked Bagon back a fair distance, but all that did was add to Bagon's rage and she came back with a hefty counter attack that sent Shinx flying into a tree, that seemed to end the battle, and Meiun threw a Pokeball at Shinx. Shinx was absorbed into the Pokeball in a red flash of light, and the Pokeball started rocking, continued to rock and finally settled. It finally dawned on Meiun that he had caught his first Pokemon with the help of Bagon and they celebrated together by jumping and punching the air again. "Right, I suppose we should head to the Pokemon centre and get our new friend all healed up shouldn't we?", Bagon agreed with a "Gon" and a nod. They started making their way back to Canis Town.

Before Khia and her Pokemon team could leave the area, an Ekans jumped out of the grass, having watched Khia take down her last few opponents. Khia knew the moment it fired a 'Poison Sting' that this battle could be dangerous for her Pokemon. Khia gasped as the poison sting hit Ray, hoping that he wouldn't be poisoned... but things never really turn out the way people want them to. Or at least thats how things usually happened. Once again, Khia thanks the fact that Ray was a steel type, and quickly recovered from her shock with a loud command ''Takedown!''

''Dum!'' Beldum said angrily. He obviously wasn't pleased at being ambushed, and was already feeling the strain of the other battles, but charged forwards and hit the Ekans regardless. ''Ekansssss!'' The Ekans responded, taking the hit surprisingly easy... until it started to wrap around Ray and squeeze him. Ray, not knowing how to react, used takedown in a blind panic and flew head-first into a tree, damaging the both of them and forcing the Ekans away from him. Weak from all the battles, Ray used takedown once again and knocked the Ekans clean into the forest surrounding Route 2. Khia ran forwards, scooped him into her arms and immediately ran towards Canis town with the intention of healing her brave Pokemon.
