Grass Area One

A large patch of grass where many a new trainer face their first Pokemon battles. The Pokemon here are very weak... ideal for training your partner Pokemon up, or adding to your party!

Caleb walked over to the grass, and placed his Raltz on the ground. It looked up at him curiously. He smiled a bit, and began ruffling the grass around them.

"I'm going to see if we can find you someone to play with. I hear nothing around here is too dangerous, so you should have some fun here."

Raltz stood up, and hugged him. Great. He was its' mommy after all.

"Heh."

It didn't take Khia's baby Beldum to awake from its quiet slumber. To her surprise, it levitated out of her hands and began to move in the direction of the grassy area directly outside the town.

''Rey, what are you doing? You can't go outside yet, it's dangerous!'' Khia said, following her curious Pokemon. She had yet to introduce it to it's Pokeball, and fully intended to do so once she had gone to the store, but now, it looked as though she would be getting into a wild encounter before she had fully sorted out her own Pokemon! To her horror, Rey completely ignored the danger, and floated straight into the tall grass!

''Come back!'' Khia shoulder, following him. She was just about to pluck Beldum out of the air when suddenly...

There was a pack of purrloins in the grass. One hopped out, and stared coldly at the Raltz. This... wasn't good. These were known to be a rather merciless type of creature. Caleb was ready to just pick up his Raltz and flee, but it had darted ahead to hug it!

"No, Belle! Don't hug the purrloin!" the creature let out a hiss and batted Raltz in the head with a quick scratch. She let out a coo of pain, and backed up a bit. Purrloin arched her back, and bounded around. But, Belle still wanted to play, it seems. Perhaps this purrloin wasn't as violent as it looked, and it was playing too? Cats did that.

But it was a dark type. If Raltz learned how to use its' psychic powers here, they wouldn't work. If only there was another trainer nearby who could help him out...

(gonna assume 6 means "yes")

Tao entered the area, carrying his tiny mushroom in his hands as it was filled with masculinity. Bravely it stood at the height Tao kept him, peering off in to the distance with a determined gaze.
Tao laughed at the little guy and patted it's head.
"Like a boss, Shroom, like a boss."

It beeped boastfully once more, proudfully crying out it's name. When suddenly, a response came from the grass, and a poochyena jumped out of the tall grass, it's tail already bristeled. Normally Tao would hardly be impressed by these kind of encounters, seeing they happen everywhere near Auriga and it's usual just low level monsters, but today he was glad.
This would be an excellent oppertunity to see what the little bugger was capable of.
He put the mushroom on the ground as it puffed itself up infront of the Poochyena. Tao smiled as Shroom seemed to be quite the adamant fellow.
"Okay guy, let's try this out. Use Absorb!", Tao said excited.

The Purloin was awfully disappointed with its' playmate, and fled. Belle cried out, and chased after it. What a mess. Caleb dashed after the two pokemon, and upon finally catching up to Raltz, noticed it had stumbled upon a young Pidgey scavenging for food. It seemed to want to defend its' collection of straw. It was making a nest, and for some silly reason, thought Raltz was out to steal it. It flew forward, and pecked Raltz on the head!

This seemed to cause some sort of mental disturbance through the air. Pidgey stumbled around a bit, falling onto its' butt. Confusion! But, it was more of a reflexive frightened defense. Something told Caleb it wouldn't be able to use it willingly yet. Belle cried out a bit, as newborn babies tend to do, as Pidgey recovered. He had to think of something, and quick.

"Belle, try hugging it!"

The Raltz ran up to the Pidgey and tackled it head first, tripping due to bad balance. It wasn't a real tackle, but it worked. The Pidgey was out cold. Caleb used this chance to snatch his pokemon and dart out of the tall grass while he could.

Sam strode smiling into the only area near town known to house wild Pokemon. It was dangerous perhaps, but the Pokemon tended to be weak and it was a perfect place to train his newly hatched Larvitar. Looking about, he could see the other new trainers wandering about and training their own Pokemon, and he smiled. It really was a good day to start a Pokemon adventure. With Baby strolling casually behind him, he stepped into the nearest patch of tall grass and looked around for any signs of hiding Pokemon.

He heard something and crouched a bit as his Larvitar waddled curiously up behind him. He put a finger to his lips just as another sound of rustling grass caught his ears and made a "Shhhhh" sound to which Baby responded with a wide-eyed and whispered "Lar..."

A Pidgey hopped out in front of them both, a few strands of grass in its beak. Sam grinned at it and Baby imitated, though, it was a little odd looking and seemed more like a leer than a grin. The Pidgey stopped dead in its tracks and turned to look at the both of them. Upon seeing Baby leering at it its beak opened and let the few bits of grass drop to the ground.

"Alright Baby, go g-"

Before he could finish his sentence, Baby had charged forward, mouth open. Through the ensuing flurry of pecking and feathers Sam could hardly make out much of what was going on, but when the feathers settled, Baby was sitting atop a worn out Pidgey with its leg in her mouth. Baby hardly seemed dazed by the brief battle and, the only damage she had seemed to be a little bit of scuffing on her hard, rock-like skin from the pecks.

Sam beamed and patted Baby's head.

"That's my Baby. Though next time, wait for me to tell you to fight okay?"
"Laaaar!" was her response and he kissed her horn gently.
"Good, now let go of Pidgey, I think it's already unconscious."

Baby obliged and waddled over to his side.
"Alright then, how bout we find you another opponent, huh?"

Shroom frowned like a badass as it seemed to focus, the tiny poochyena keeping himself at bay.
The top of his head seemed to glow slightly as Shroom seemed to absorb the nutrients out of Poochyena's body from a distance. Sparkling life force flew out of Poochyena, who in turn clearly showed it's discomfort.

With a slight bark the wolf-like pokémon lunged forward and nudged the mushroom with it's head in a tackle. Shroom seemed unfazed however, taking the attack and standing his ground as he absorbed more nutrients from his body, the Poochyena falling weak to his knees as Shroom seemed to regain himself more.
With a nod, as if he didn't expect anything less of himself, shroom approved of his opponent's downfall. "Mish.", he uttered manly.

Tao clapped and walked up to the little mushroom, smiling and laughing slightly as the little boss seemed to boast in his victory.
"There there, little fellow, don't get cocky now.", he laughed.
The two kept in the grass, among the other trainers that had already exited the town. It seems the group would likely keep together for a while, while they started up their journey. Through the grass, Tao made his way to one of the folk he'd seen around town, often hanging around the egg centre and now accompanying a small larvitar.

Atleast that was what he was planning, untill all of a sudden another poochyena jumped out, most likely a friend of the one they had just knocked out.
Shroom was quick on the action, seeing the threat in the pokémon's stance and jumped down. Intimidated by his foe's appearance, but it didn't matter. Shroom puffed himself up and absorbed all the nutrients in the poochyena's body before running up to it and almost tumbling/rolling against it with it's round body.
The poochyena was clearly not that high of level either, but shroom was proud once more.
Tao laughed and kept walking towards the man with the larvitar, raising his hand slightly in a wave.

"Hey there. You out for adventure as well?"

...a Pidgey came charging out of the tall grass and hit Ray head on with what could have only been a tackle! Had Ray not been a Steel type, that tackle would have really put him at a disadvantage! ''Be careful Ray! You wanted a battle, you got one! Let's see what you can do, eh?''

Ray looked back at Khia and blinked... though she couldn't quite shake the feeling that her Beldum had just winked at her. The poor pidgey, having just hit it's head upon the steel surface of Khia's Pokemon, flopped backwards in a daze. An opening! Ray charged forwards again, hitting the poor Pidgey with his head in such a violent way that he too went flying from the impact! ''A... takedown?''

The Pidgey clearly wasn't expecting an attack like that and flopped over again, not quite fainted but too weak to move so soon after Khia's Pokemon attacked. Khia, however, was more concerned with the self-inflicted damage Ray had taken. She ran over to where he was, worried that she might find he had really been hurt, but to her surprise...

''Phew! I keep forgetting that since you're a partial Steel type, you're very resilient!''

Ray blinked again. ''Belllll!''

Khia smiled at his metallic voice. ''I think it's time to finish off that Pidgey, don't you think?''

Ray blinked again, moving to face the Pidgey whilst he did so. ''Bellll!'' With another takedown, Pidgey lay defeated. Khia unhooked a Pokeball from her belt and showed it to Ray, expecting resistance, but to her surprise, Beldum floated over to it and nudged it with its head. In a gust of red energy, Beldum disappeared inside the Pokeball, which rocked a few times before coming to a still.

*Lee runs from the town and stops besides the tall grass not exactly suspecting a thing to begin with, as his Munchlax wanders up behind him and looks inquiringly at the grass. He then proceeds to dive into the grass, from which he emerges somewhat disappointed. Sam just stares at him curiously.*

Well. That didn't go as planned.

*Lee begins walking back to town briskly with Sam toddling along at his feet.*

Sam heard more rustling in the tall grass nearby and turned just in time to find yet another Pidgey emerging from the grass. He looked down to Baby and saw that she was already leering at it. The Pidgey, having hopped right into them, seemed to grow nervous at Baby's leer and, in an act of desperation, flew at the Larvitar with its talons flashing.

"Baby! Use bite!"

Baby's face grew suddenly grim at the incoming attack and, mouth wide open, she too lunged forwad with a fierce battlecry of "Laaaaaaar!" The talons scratched at Baby's stone skin and Pidgey's beak pecked furiously but Baby persisted in the attack, biting down hard on the first thing she could get a hold of: Pidgey's head.

"That's it! Use Bite again!"

Baby brought her teet down on Pidgey's head once more and the wild flapping of its wings became more feeble and weak. Baby spat out the Pidgey and let it stumble about a bit before leering at it once more.

She likes to do that way too much, Sam thought to himself before calling out again.
"Okay! Now finish it off!"

The Larvitar charged at the Pidgey and clamped down on its neck, rendering the weakened Pidgey utterly unconscious.
Sam laughed, walked over to his Larvitar, and patted her head.

"Great job Baby, that was great."

"Laaarvitar!" she replied.

Then Sam heard someone calling out to him and looked around to see another resident of Auriga waving at him. He seemed to remember the boy's name being Tao and he was a couple years older. Tao seemed to have gotten a Shroomish as his companion and they seemed to be doing just as well in their training.

"Hey! Sure am! How're you?"

*Lee returns to the grass once again in a similar fashion diving in with Samantha close at his heels keeping an eye on him this time. Yet once again he was unsuccessful in his attempt of making an encounter he gets out of the grass and sits off to a side disapointed. Sam sitting besides him waiting for him to wander off again.*

This is becoming annoying. nothing is fighting us!

Tao smiled from underneath his unkempt hair at Sam, before reaching down and have Shroom hop into it's arms. The little mushroom introduced himself boldly towards the new face and the other monster. "Shroomish!"
Tao laughed and patted the shroomish on it's head. "Yeah, that's right little dude. You are."

He looked at Sam and nodded. "I'm doing pretty fan-fucking-tastic. For the first time in 10 years, I wasn't late, man."
"I even got the one I wanted."

"How about you? What was that one called again?", he said with a nudge of the head towards the Larvitar. "She's adorable."
Meanwhile Shroomish beeped curiously at the pokémon.

Sam laughed at Tao's response.

"Yeah the old lady and I worked hard to make sure this years supply was up to snuff.

Oh this is Baby, she's a Larvitar."

"Taaaar"

"She is cute isn't she? That's a pretty nice Shroomish you got there, he looks strong already."

Baby called out her name to the Shroomish in reply to his beep and offered a paw full of dirt.

"So you're heading out to be Pokemon Trainer huh?"

Khia glanced at the Pokeball containing Ray, then looked around with a grin. I guess after our little fight, no Pokemon wants to challenge us!

Noticing that the area was rapidly filling with newbie trainers, Khia hooked Ray's Pokeball back onto it's belt, then headed off to Canis town with the intention of using the PokeCentre there.
